when you say low how low is low >>(warning light)? My "fill up warning light" didn't light, nor has it ever lit up for me.

Put it this way, I once ran REALLY low. I was on a canyon road with no gas station near by. The needle was well past the red. I filled up the car with what I believe was 15.1 gallons, ~ half a gallon left. About a week later, my car started having a high end miss. I checked the fuel pressure, primed and idled at 42 psi...but at WOT it droped to 20 (pump was toast). Got a new one, and problem was solved.
Like I said before, running low will not guarantee damage, but it does risk it.
