The Edelbrock parts are a joke at best and no need to go 2.02/1.6 on the valves which requires the added expense of new seats.

I like Advanced Induction for heads/cam work using stock ported heads, propels over 4100lbs into the 11s and mellow enough that the wife likes driving it and the wildest daily driver she has ever had is a stock 03 Impala with the 3.4L.

She has been down the strip so few times I could count on my hands and still she runs within .1 of what I do, 12.3-4 last time she went with me and that is 150 miles from home, at 4000ft. DA in full street trim except slicks 500 miles from home it still runs 12.8 but the track surface was like 130+ so traction was BAD.

agreed with what caprice said.... There are a ton of places now offering complete top end kits with stock ported castings, cam, gaskets, etc.... some will even do a manifold that has been ported and opened up for a 58mm TB as well..... I did that with my old motor and was very pleasantly surprised with how complete the kit was... and it cranked out power cause it was matched to the rest of the parts.... buying a kit sometimes helps NOT getting parts that totally do not complement each other.... which is half the battle... it's not the parts it's the sum of the parts TOGETHER in concert with each other that makes power...

Maybe a better way to put this would be the Edelbrock "kit" is advertized as 396fwhp and by all accounts my car makes that at the wheels put this topend on a 40K mile motor and put about 10K on it since and I have 1 5/8" midlegth headers and 2.5" exhaust through mufflers they used 1 3/4 longtubes for their testing.

Once you stsrt looking at the nmbers guys get out of worked stock castings the Edelbrock stuff looks VERY bad.

i had the same problem, then i added a 150 shot....

But if you are stuck on wanting a cam, my vote goes to the LE2, with the intake port matched. Lloyd will do the intake too!!!
