how much hp for a cutout??

with an otherwise stock exhaust how much hp gain is there with a cutout in the y-pipe? And is a cutout worth more hp than an aftermarket catback or the same?

Depending on the catback, i'd say about the same. If you have a catback, a cutout isn't gonna net you much. If you are on stock exhaust, you'll see some better gains, I'd say 10hp at the most for a catback or cutout.

i picked up about 8rwhp with dual cutouts off the headers basically open headers, over a hooker cat back, and about .4 at the track...........

People with big mods will see more power with a cutout. Your stock car might if you have no exhaust mods, but I wouldn't waste the money yet. I've seen people lose 2hp up to gain 7hp, and make 0-10tq with one. Just drop the dough on dual exhaust
