didn't the "factory" 2otL have a silencer (i.e. the cone of silence) in them, making them noticably quieter?
I love the look, I had a dynomax kit on my '86 Z28 that was a 2otL design

I have this exhaust w/ y pipe and Pacesetter LTs no cats or rear o2s
It doesnt seem that loud though so if there is a silencer on it I want to know where it is and how to remove it. My car is the 97 SS
I would do a sound clip for ya but not to computer savy with video

My 2OTL muffler came off of a 97 SS, and when I bought it, I bought it with the over-the-axle pipe still attached, so the cone of silence was still in there.
Technically, the cone isn't in the muffler, it's in the over-the-axle pipe. They basically have an insert that necks down to about a 1 3/4" diameter. I removed mine after I got curious to know if it was still in there.
I'll post a sound clip when I get mine put on. I'm still running the stock muffler right now.
383 w/ 230-236/112 cam with SLP single cat headers, Random Tech cat. Honestly, it sounds good even through the stock muffler, but you can tell the engine is muffled and wants to breathe.
