Default Injector swap question...

I have accel 24# injectors.. If I were to swap them for SVO 24# injectors, would the car have to be re-tuned? Are the flow rates of these two types of injectors the same on an LT1?

I don't see why you would..I know stealthformula on here has a new set of SVO's for sale..hit him up. He could prob answer this better then myself.

I didn't tune right away when I put in my SVO 24#, and mine stock are 22# (93 only). I actually notice a change swapping to them with throttle response and acceleration.

With all that said, the SVO will run around 25.2# due to the fact that Ford runs like 38psi for fuel pressure, where as we run 41-43psi. There's calcs online you can punch in to convert from XXXpsi to whatever PSI you run, and it'll tell you the new injector rating. I think with SVO it doesn't scale with how big of injectors you run, it's more of a constant 1.xx# more. So 40# would just be 41.5~#.

Formula350 is right about the flow rates of the SVO's being something along the lines of a 25.2# since our fuel pressure is different than what Ford uses. I know the difference seems minimal and I am by no means an expert when it comes to tuning but I would imagine that it must be tuned at some point because it will be altering the air/fuel. I think it would a completely different story if you were to upgrade to say some 42#'s or something which could cause some serious issues if not tuned but I want to assume that it should be tuned for them. Hopefully you can get more opinions on that. My tuner actually didnt want me to put on a set of 30's that I have until I had the chance to put it on the dyno so he could make sure the WOT tables I believe he said would be spot on which you cant do by just going into the computer and making some adjustments.
