cold start idle
cold start idle Every morning after i let my car sit all night or hours...i start it and it starts to idle high which is normal then goes down to normal idle...but its when i get on the road(note this is the first drive of the day)and come to a light or stop it will start idling high about 1k or lil higher and so on ...and its always the first drive that it does it...even if its already warmed up to were the fans kick on...i park let it sit go to a store or work come back and all of a sudden it idles fine with no high oR low....ive already hooked it up on the OBD1 at work and nothing seems wrongs only thing it could be is a vacum leak but ive looked up and down the car...ANYONE HAVE OR HAD THE SAME PROBLEM???NEED SOME HELP WITH IT...

It could be your Idle Air Control (IAC) valve sticking open. The IAC opens up and keeps the engine running at 1200 rpm when coasting and should then close up to achieve idle speed when you actually stop and the MPH goes to 0. Try cleaning it first. Ref shbox's site http://shbox.com/1/iac3.jpg
