Default Abs

my cars abs inop light came on then started flashing. It was wright after this huge storm the low trac light came on but the roads where wet so that's a gimme. What should i be looking for as the culprit of this problem. i took it easy as to not lock up the brakes, but i hit the brakes decently hard a few time's to see if anything would happen the kept on going smoothly

Not to scare you, but my symptoms were exactly the same when my entire ABS unit failed. I did my breaks and the rear rotors had rust on them even though I had just driven the car to the store. I pulled the brakelines and I was getting no fluid to the rear brakes at all. Traced the fluid to the ABS unit. Ended up getting one at a junk yard for 50$ and now the breaks are good to go. I took apart the old unit and the 2 of the 3 gears in the bottom of the unit had shattered into 3 or 4 pieces each. Strangest thing I've seen working on this car.

check the sensor at the top of your rear end where the reluctor ring would be spinning to set off the gauge

It's called the ABS sensor lol (honestly).

It's on the top of your pumpkin and looks just like the ones in your front brakes.
