how to get rid of the opti an put in distrib.
What are your goals?
Looking to overcomplicate a simple thing?
Looking to take a step backwards?
Looking to prove the internet has more bad info than good and convinces folks good parts are bad?
With 10 minutes worth of effort the completely stock opti can be made very reliable even at rpms in excess of what our pcms can handle and it is more accurate than a rear mounted unit.
Pop rivet the rotor and seal the cap/wiring and it will last very well at high rpms.
If Delteq or LTCC "fix" an opti problem it was just in need of a $100 cap and rotor, but the folks who spend $600 on fancy work arounds swear it was worth it. Then again maybe they are comparing to old worn out parts??
