Stock Rod Strength

Just how strong are the stock rods for lt1 motors? I am in the middle of a build and would like to go with a 3.75 eagle crank and forged pistons but were wondering if the rods are good to go given that I don't spin over 6,600 rpm...The car will not make over 400rwhp at this time also...

Stock rods are fine for your current build. They, like the stock crank, can handle a good amount of power.

Stock powdered metal rods are very strong, its the stock rod bolts that suck and should at the least be replaced with ARP's.

yeah the weak link is the rod bolts...the higher you spin the motor the more force on the bolts and cause them to distort and that causes wear and tear on the bearings. Get some good arp bolts and you should be good to go.
