Default Made a few pulls...

I FINALLY got the bugs/wiring issues worked out on my car and FINALLY put my car on the dyno..Its never been on one. Outside temp was 85*, humidity was 50%..

This isn't too bad for having a McLeod ST clutch, S60 rear, and heavy-*** 17x9.5 LG wheels w/ET streets. Track times are next.

As I said in my first post, track times are next.

https://ls1tech.com/forums/gears-axles/930142-who-has-had-s60-problems.html

Here is a topic, about parasitic loss between a 9inch vs. S60. GMHTP did an article a while back, and from what I gather, the 9inch is 3% more than a 10 bolt, and the S60 is 3% more than the 9inch. I've also found several members saying that they've lost 15-20hp from switching from a 9inch vs. S60.

not bad numbers for the drivetrain! are those SAE corrected?
track times ****!! you aint gonna hurt it

~6K on stickies and side step it, pedal to the floor you only need to let off the clutch a little bit!

you got a printout of the A/F ratio? that cant be the actual readout for it, just looks way to flat.

btw, what gear set is in the s60? IIRC.... 3.73's?

get some good NA ET's and put the spray on it! the car will be lethal then, and dont tell me it cant handle it fugger! ;p

EDIT: oh and damnit come up here to Byron to get your track times!! **** GIR

About time, you read your mail,Steve, lol.

Couldn't tell ya if those are corrected or not. Tony could tell ya that. That is the actual prinout of the A/F ratio, I had a little help on straightening it out

4:10 gears w/35 spline axles, w/Tru-Trac posi in the S60. Seems that it has a 6% drivetrain loss, through it. Either the first or second week in Aug, we'll be up your way...Not sure what track yet.

what else are you thinking, US41?

forget that, bring it to Byron...very fast track and closer for me!

only way i would say go to GIR is if Timmy met you there for some logging and tuning the passes.

you started looking into N2O setups yet?

btw, what do those heads flow/lift? valve size?

LT1 castings, 2.00/1.56 Ferrea valves

Lift Intake Exhaust
.200 158 119
.250 187 138
.300 212 156
.350 236 169
.400 253 180
.450 268 189
.500 268 194
.550 N/A 196
.600 N/A 199
.650 N/A 199

Thats the info I got from JDC Engineering, from Minonk,IL. Nah, I haven't been looking at N2O setups, BIG aftermarket heads/BIG cams, or looking to sell it all for a Turbo setup

We could do Byron, thats cool.

did you try richening it up a bit? 14:1 seems a bit thin when you're near peak torque. I'm not criticizing, just wondering why you chose to go so thin the the middle of the curve (after peak hp thin is IN in my books . I thought I was being agressive with a 12.5:1 fo most of my curve but it looks like you went way past that.

for comparison I'm running a 12.5:1 SCR, 9:1 DCR, 12.5:1 AFR, and slightly bigger heads, valves (vale seats as well), and a 396 to keep rpms down... though we're peakign about the same so I imagine my cam is a bit more agressive as well. That said you're only about 40hp lower so I'd have to say you did a nice job tuning it in.

I tune with a permantly-mounted WB which I log with... do you have any AFR numbers off the dyno? I find dyno AFR to be abit richer than on the street with heavier loads (i.e. hills, extra passengers, full weight of vehicle vs drums, etc...).

Just seems a little scarey to me to be at 14:1 on a dyno hoping it won't go leaner than that on the street.

Any feedback would be great... like I said I think you did a great job in wrenching out the ponies on this one. It's gotta be a stroker... 396?

Yes, we richened it up a tad..The AFR gauge we had in the car, was an Innov. unit, and I plugged that in, on the drivers' side pipe, near the o2 bung. We hit 13:1-2 @ WOT, on the street. Then we loaded it up on the dyno, and hooked its' o2 sensor in the tailpipe. At WOT, the machines' reading was 13:5:1...On the very last pull, he added one degree of timing @ WOT, and it didn't effect the readings a bit. So, he put it back to where it was

Its a 383 stroker

nice... Guess I don't have to sweat too much with 12.5:1... especially with the 0.039" quench and that big *** radiator I wedged in there.

Nice job.
