Help settle an argument Did any of the LT1 cars come OE with a 3.73??
Just got into an argument that a 1997 SS had one.
I thought they were just like the LS1 cars 2.73 3.23 and 3.42

they totally did
NOT come with any 373 gears my buddy even has an LS1 SLP Firehawk and it still only has the 373 and this car has ever single option they came with. seeing as not even the LS1 came with 373 in its fully loaded SLP hawk then i really doubt any LT1's came with them especially since they offered 273 then, and for the ls1's i dont think they ever offered 273 iirc.

A '97 SS would have came with 3.23's if auto (GU5 code) or 3.42's if manual. From '94-'02 the auto's either had 2.73's or 3.23's while the manuals had strictly 3.42's. In '93 the manuals came with 2.73's or 3.23's because of their more aggressive transmission gearing so to answer your question you are right no 3.73's were ever available in stock trim.
