How much boost on LT1?

How much boost on LT1? Im thinkin of going a different direction and doing a Rear Mount on my 96 M6 Z28...
How many lbs of boost do you think a Stock Lt1 bottom end can hold up to... if its not much, then I dont want to waste my money on a turbo...

I was sort of looking into doing that awhile back until I figured out for alot less money spent a good heads/cam package would produce similar or even better numbers and be more reliable/safer atleast in my case than running 6-8lbs. of boost. I wouldn't go anymore than 7-8 lbs. with a stock short block.
yep 6-7 psi will be fairly safe as long as you retard the timing a little bit..... of course when using forced induction or nitrous you are putting more stress on the motor so it will put more wear on the motor in return..... but its a good trade cause you will have much more power and it will still hold up and last for a good long while..... you just aint gonna get 150,000 200,000 miles out of a hopped up motor!
