Question transmission help

a buddy of mine says he has a lt1 that needs a tranny. he would like a muncie 4sp, but he was unsure if thats even possible to mate to the lt1. please let me know if its possible, and if it is where he could find one for a good deal. also what other parts would he need to make it work. ie clutch flywheel, adapters.

thanks in advance

Is it for an F-body application, or is he putting the LT-1 in another car? If it's for a 3rd or 4th gen F-bod, he'll have to get a torque arm relocation kit, as the Muncie doesn't have the necessary bosses. Secondly, the Muncie uses a side mounted shifter, whereas the OE tranny has the shifter coming out the top of the tail shaft. Possibly won't be enough room without a major hack job to the tunnel. The OE clutch setup is a hydraulically actuated deal, I don't know enough about it to say anything other than "It's really different".....
