Need help!!!!!!!!!!! Ok 94Z A4 with bolt-ons. During the day when its hot, it sumbles and back fires through the exhaust and intake. At night when its cool, it runs like there is no tommorow. What could be doing this. Ive thought there is a crack somewhere in the Opti, but Im not 100% sure. Anybody got any answers?
Possible coolant temperature sensor. It's telling the pcm that the engine temp is either too high or too low and adjusting the fuel accordingly. Do you have an A/F ratio gauge on your Z? I had similar issues and had it scanned and the pcm was reading -44* in August, so it was leaning me out. Is it smoking or smelling funny? Hope I was of some help.
