I've had my car for about 3 years now but only really got a good year's use out of it back in 2005. It had a bad timing cover gasket and kept failing my OPTI's every 10K - 5K miles. I got tired of changing OPTI's and decided to pull the motor and tranny to get them rebuilt. They sat in my garage for about a year and a half because of $$$. Finally got some $$$ and got the tranny rebuilt and the motor is currently being built (40% done).

The problem is at the time I just kinda started removing things and putting them on shelves in their own little area in my garage and threw all the nuts and bolts in a couple of bags and a box. (YIKES!! ).

If I can redeem myself at all I do have the GM service manuals for this year car (THE FULL SET). Well I guess what I am asking is does anyone have a good write up, (with pics maybe) for the removal/installation of the LT1 motor from a 4th gen. I did a google search but only get a lot of swaps. For some reason I can find how to cram an LT1 into a Fiero but I can't find a good write up on a remove/install for a Early 4th gen bird.

I love this car and refuse to get rid of it and it absolutely kills me to go summer after summer for the last three years with it sitting in my garage. Now that I have some $$$ I want to do something about it. My goal is to have this baby on the road by Late aug/early sept. Any help would be greatly appreciated. I know a lot about the car and issues so i am glad to help in exchange for advice here and there.
