Default Difference in LT1s?

Is there a major difference between these LT1s, going in a project vehicle of mine so would have custom wiring harness and ecu.

LT1 out of a 1996 Caprice
LT1 out of a 1995 Impala
LT1 out of a 1995 Camaro
LT1 out of a 1995 Trans-am (says its aluminum heads)

Internally is there a difference? I am planning on running a 6spd, cam and supporting valve train parts, and thats it.

Camaro and T/A have aluminum heads
Caprice/Impala have cast iron heads

And different cams

Nothing major i guess.

The Impala and Caprice have iron heads, difference between those two engines is YEAR differences not model.

The Camaro and TA motors are the same as eachother, both have aluminum heads, not a gain over iron in stock form but more desirable for porting.

All 4 have the same block and rotating assembly, all the 95s have the same pcm.

different crank hubs
OBD2 hubs were the shortest, OBD1 hubs the longest and Caprice/Impala hubs were inbetween.
knowing this comes in handy when using a double roller timing chain set

Lol why couldn't they just make an identical engine. So camaro/trans-am I decided on. I am waiting to hear from them about the engines, if they do not have wiring harness and ecu with them, is there a good place online I can get one from? The ecu will be flashed and customed tuned for my vehicle, so would it have to be exact year as engine? Same with wire harness, or would a few years work (94-96 for example) Thanks for the information so far!

You want a 94-5 pcm and the 95 wiring would be a better choice if f-body, b-body you could use either 94-5 wiring. Difference is a 94 f-body harness will have an unvented opti connector.

Engines are all quite similar, just little stuff changed.

I should say the harnesses are not the same b-body and f-body, the b-body has the pcm behind the driver's side headlight, the f-body up tucked under the cowl a little on the passenger side, if any of that matters.

there's the 4.3L L99 "baby LT1" engines that were installed in caprices. Standard for Roadmaster, and SS were the LT1. Also wagons got the LT1 standard also.
