Fuel pump relay
Fuel pump relay Well just finished the 383 and just barely broke it in. Now I have another problem with the car not starting. My car was having a hard time starting. I would have to crank and crank it for about 15 seconds then would finally start. I did this about 3 times having to hold it for about 15 seconds before it would start. I didnt want to ruin the starter so I stopped for a day. next day my battery is dead. I jumped the battery and turned the key to see if I could hear the Fuel pump prime. the battery had plenty of juice to start the car so I know it wasnt that the battery was to low. but I noticed I could hear the fuel pump relay making a noise. like a grinding noise. like it would go on and off, on and off really fast. while it was making the noise you could hear the fuel pump start to prime and stop, prime and stop. My question is could this just be a relay prob. or something more serious like fuel pump or PCM.
I'd say go ahead and swap relays real quick to see if that helps your issue. If not, it might be the pump has bit the dust, causing your hard start issue. If so, get a new Racetronix kit.
