headers if i put edelbrock TES Ceramic Coating Finish Headers on my 95 z28 will i notice them, are they any good??... and will it sound much better. and i was also thinking about taking the cat off after inspection.. will that be a good idea or will it mess everything up with the computer and all... thanks
The stock exhaust manifolds are very restrictive so really any decent header will make a performance gain...I ran the edelbrock style sold thru Lingenfelter for a long time and they made good power and ran me deep into the 11s...I switched to the Kooks stepped long tubes 1 3/4- 1 7/8 and while we got zero hp gains on the dyno we picked up 1.5 mph at the track...
My advice would be to go with long tubes if your state allows or you can get around emissions in your state...Look ahead to when your bolt on car will may develop into a heads, cam, etc etc etc...and pick the headers now that will work when you step up your game...

Im sure that the stock cat is a restriction...I ran with my cat gutted but in place for years with no problems...Now I run 3" TDs and no cats...If you go with the shorties Id gut the cat...If you go with LTs you'll need a new Y pipe and then you can choose one with or without cats...The cheaper way is without cats...It all depends on how your emissions inspection process is where you are...
