Has anyone had the side of you Rad melt???

Has anyone had the side of you Rad melt??? Well today at the gas station I noticed water under the front of the car, So i check it out and yep its antifreeze. So I pop the hood and find a pin hole squirting out the plastic side of the radiator. I pull the battery and find a soft spot about a dime size near the sensor and it melted to the point that it got a pin sized hole in it. So I ran over to Walmart picked up some JB weld stop leak cleaned up the area and put it on then added some radiator stop leak to it and filled it back up. Doesnt seem to be leaking yet but WTF!!!!

Its on the side near the sensor by the battery not at the sensor itself . I know I thought it was very odd.
I expected to see a blown hose or worse yet head gasket not a melted rad. The insides of the rad look brand new with 0 corrosion.

I had one do the same thing! My problem was the battery was rubbing it to the point it softend up like your are descibing and then got the pin sized hole.Grab hold of your battery and shake it back and forth to see if it dosent touch it.I put an old rag between mine to stop the contact for a temp fix. I will probley do somthing else with it when the car goes back together. Maybe even put the battery in the trunk!
