Default Bought a LT1

I was sick of waiting for the new camaro and not having a fast car so I bought this 96 Z to hold me over. It's a little bit of a project car that I can play with and still get my 2010 SS in a year and a half. T-top T56 car with cloth interior.

Nice car! To my understanding factory chrome salad shooters are quite rare.

Thanks for all the compliments guys. I really never saw chrome salad shooters either but I test drove two with them. Mine being one and both were 96's. This is my second LT1 I also had a 96 T/A pretty much the twin to my Z but with leather and an auto. It has 130,000 on it now but runs real strong. I plan on fixing a few things first then maybe wheels, shifter and exhaust. But now I'm going to look into how rare the wheels are and possibly leave them. I drove it from Milwaukee back home to MI so it seems very reliable. I'm excited to have another f-body again after being without for almost two years.

Nice car, especially for the price. It would be cool to just clean it up and leave it stock looking, especially with the rare wheels. Then you and I will probably be the only LT1's left in the mid west with stock wheels.

I want to get to the track but I would like to check the codes and change the trans fluid and oil. I'm going to do that this weekend so I'm thinking I'll run it maybe next month when the air is better. Which track you going to?

The wheels are really starting to grow on me. I think I'm going to do what you said. I really want exhaust though so that plus a CAI and roller rockers will be my only mods in the near future.

I just got an LT1 recently also. '96 with the same rims, but mine was $5,000 with 45,000 miles and in very good shape.

It is nice and I recently had it tuned and it goes pretty good.

where are you guys finding these cars?? man there have been some good buys around lately.

for the record I totally dig the chrome salads. I actually always like salad shooters, the only problem with them was that they were too common. Now you almost never see them on nice fbodies.
