Default Easiest way to install LTs?

I have a set of Pacesetter LTs, what's the easiest way to install them? Do I have to lift the engine? Do you do it from top or bottom?

from the bottom...both sides....

remove the steering linkage and the coolant temp sensor on the drivers side
remove the alt. and dip stick on the passenger side
remove the plugs and wires

get the front of the car way off the ground....the lts need to go in at a steep angle

I got both of mine in from the top. In addition to the normal things you have to remove, I took off the drivers side spark plug wire loom, and the passenger side valve cover.

I really don't see a way to do it from the top being that long but I can be wrong, I never did it and thought to ask you guys with the experience. At the end I'll install them the way most of you guys tell me is easier than the other.

They all dont fit in same way, cause ive read people say went in from top and bottom.

Ive done both mine from the bottom, so i guess you just have to try it and see what works best. Check your engine mounts if there worn would be a good time to replace it.

From what I've heard installing them is not the problem. It's removing the stock manifolds.

It CANNOT be harder than installing TOGs on a GTP.

Everything is pretty straight forward, just jack the car high, when i say high i mean UNSAFE HIGH unless you have a lift.

If i could go back and do it again, i would have just started out with the car at least 2-3 feet off the ground. it would have saved the collectors from a couple scratches and me lots of time.

Yes, and yes unsafe high is the way to do it (a couple feet if you can swing it, stack some boards....use old rims ect...).

All the exhaust jobs I have done on LT1s/LS1s have been done from below (many). I can see how it could be done from the top, just have never tried it.

I took out everything necessary, and then unbolted the passenger motor mount. Both went in from the top. My dad got pissed and used a sledge hammer and a two-by-four to get teh passenger one to go in. It busted my heater box but it went in...

Jack the car up 2-3 feet if possible. the higher the better... take the temp sensor off... the plug wires and plugs, get the darn manifold heat shields off first, use a long flat head and a hammer to break the rivets. then its pretty easy... just unbolt the bolts, put the new ones in, and bam.

I don't know how the pacesetters differ from the hookers but I did my hookers from the top. Pain in the *** for sure.

I did it this way also. Honestly wasnt that bad of a install, just the akward angles that get frustrating on the passenger side.

Have fun!
