from the bottom...both sides....
remove the steering linkage and the coolant temp sensor on the drivers side
remove the alt. and dip stick on the passenger side
remove the plugs and wires
get the front of the car way off the ground....the lts need to go in at a steep angle

I really don't see a way to do it from the top being that long but I can be wrong, I never did it and thought to ask you guys with the experience. At the end I'll install them the way most of you guys tell me is easier than the other.

They all dont fit in same way, cause ive read people say went in from top and bottom.
Ive done both mine from the bottom, so i guess you just have to try it and see what works best. Check your engine mounts if there worn would be a good time to replace it.

Everything is pretty straight forward, just jack the car high, when i say high i mean UNSAFE HIGH unless you have a lift.
If i could go back and do it again, i would have just started out with the car at least 2-3 feet off the ground. it would have saved the collectors from a couple scratches and me lots of time.

All the exhaust jobs I have done on LT1s/LS1s have been done from below (many). I can see how it could be done from the top, just have never tried it.

Jack the car up 2-3 feet if possible. the higher the better... take the temp sensor off... the plug wires and plugs, get the darn manifold heat shields off first, use a long flat head and a hammer to break the rivets. then its pretty easy... just unbolt the bolts, put the new ones in, and bam.
