Default LT1 vs. LT1

Well, raced my brother today.

His mods and car:
96 Formula. OEM ram air (gutted), 3.23s, Pacesetter LTs--->flowmaster catback, drag radials

My mods and car:
97 Trans Am. OEM ram air, 3.42s, 3200 stall, tune, street tires

How should this have turned out?

gears and stall car should pull down low to mid range, headers exhaust car should pull up top!

Yep, I pulled HARD at first and we stayed even til 70 and then he pulled HARD and we were about even at the 1/4 mark and he kept flying past me. Easily trapping 2mph faster.

Not to be a smartazz but trapping 2 mph faster isn't exacly flying past anything lol.

Ok, well he pulled 3 cars in a matter of seconds. About a car/second. So whatever that equates to.

I'll get vids if I can get him to run again. I myself don't want to do another run, as it's pretty far out of the way and kind of a production. I'm not about to lose my car/license over a video!

Probably due to him having headers and flowing more on the top end, as well as being lighter.

At least that's my assumption.

His is a lighter car, has more HP, and better top end gearing and better tires. He should win on top. Are you sure it was a 1/4mile?

I have the better gearing. Negligible, but better.

He did win on top. We did a quick roll before the race and with his AC on we were even, but we didn't get up to a very high speed.

I judged 1/4 mile by around 100mph on my speedo.

I'm not saying I should have won, I just wanted to see some responses. I lost. He was pulling hard on me and he was a car or so ahead of me when I let off. which was just over 100mph.

Next time, I'm going to run with the cutout open too. That might help a tad.

What is meant by "these threads?" A racing story where I held off on the outcome to see if people would guess right?

Haven't ever seen one of those myself.

Tell you what. Come here and buy it. $9k. That's how much it's worth to me. I'll sell my car for $10k.
They are worth $10k together. Of course that bike is one of a kind...

You have better low end gearing, he has better top end gearing. That probably explains him taking you on the top end. Despite the weight and power

Oh ya you guys sure do have some nice looking cars!
