Tranny problem?
Tranny problem? So im driving on the freeway and i notice smoke coming out of my rear so i pull over and there is tranny fluid everywhere underneath looks like its coming from the rear of the tranny right next to the torque arm .....my i drove it back home slowly and it was still shifting fine and i have never had any problems with it so what do you guys think its leaking from ....rear main seal maybe ....? please say ,my tranny is not shot i have no money!!!!!
it could be the seal that goes where the driveshaft slides in. there is also a O-ring that goes in between the tailshaft and the trans when the two mate up againts each other. either way there both easy fixes.
slide the driveshaft out. unbolt the 4 bolts that hold the tailshaft on and un bolt the torque arm. you will also need a jack to support the trans since the cross member will have to come out also
