I had this problem with my 93Z. I replaced EVERYTHING including headgaskets. Last thing on the list was the radiator. And now with a 160 thermostat the gauge stays right below the first big mark on the temp gauge (160-180 i guess) and dosnt move. Not on the highway or in traffic.

This is how I bleed: Fill the radiator with both bleed screws open until the radiator is full and and there is water seeping from the bleed screws. Next I close the bleed screws and
start the engine with the cap off and wait for the crossover tube to stop bubbling.
Then I let the car run (with the cap on tight) until its at the operating temp and then shut it off. Next open the
bleed screws. Each time I do it like this I wont have to open the bleed screws more than twice. Once to bleed, once again to double check. Hope this helps.

Its also very important to bleed the system WITH THE ENGINE OFF.

I pulled the thermostat out and brought it in to check it. The damn thing dont start to open until 220 then it opens really slow. its suppose to be a 180

There you go! I'll bet that is your problem. Easy fix at least.
