SS Ram Air vs CAI
Here is my very first post.
A few months ago I got a 96 Z28 convertible and recently came across an SS hood for 150.00 which I am planning to put on. My question is this: Should I spring the extra 250 for the SS ram air setup or should I get a Cold Air intake (moroso, k&n, etc) and just leave the hood open to cool the engine bay?
From what Ive read (which seems to make sense) is that the SS setups are not nearly as good as the WS6 but how do the SS setups compare to a Cold Air Intake?
thanks for your help
Tom
FYI. I went from an SLP CAI to the WS6 Ram Air box, and did not notice any difference, but I am still using a paper filter, might notice something with a K&N. Even with no performance gain, I think it is well worth it. Looks way cooler, I can say the hood is actually functional and say I have ram air, easy to change filter, easier to clean TB and stuff. etc etc
