Interesting thread. Quinn said the swap away from the LTx intake was not worth much.

I read that as he nearly regretted the single plane swap.

Man, I'd love to have the opportunity to do a back to back comparrison and put that argument to rest.
I just don't see how you would possibly gain enough to justify the spend on a custom setup like that.

I'm half-tempted to lend my ported intake to someone with a single-plane
(since my motor is out anyhow) just to see what they gain/lose by swapping back.

What I'd really like to see is someone make an LSx-style manifold where
the runners extend into the plenum. So you could have nice long runners
without having something so tall it sticks out the hood or having to convert
to a carb-style manifold. Even there, I'd want to see some real results
before I invested that kind of money.

I'm not saying that there are no gains to be had.
I'm simply saying that $1500-2000 is a tall price to pay for even 8-10rwhp.

Good read, thanks for posting that link.

I think there is alot to be made up high
say 7000+ but I agree if you only take it to 6500 or so you wouldnt see much

An Australian car runs a NA 403 ci 9.1@151

The car is a Holden Commodore , basically a 2 door pick-up of the 2004 GTO

( called a ute or utility )

Good find, Dwayne. Lots of info in that topic. I wish a few of those "older" LTx guru's were still posting and such.

What I find entertaining is how it is shoots down the single plane myth so many are blindly buying into these days.

I am NOT saying the LT1 intake is perfect or that there are not single planes that are better. There are single planes that are better, just people trust the wrong folks and endup with the wrong single plane for the application.

There is at least one Super Stock Firebird that runs 9.5's.
