Here's a 2min vid of what it sounds like on a bone stock LT1 with pacesetter LT's (pay attn and you'll notice the wonderful SES light for no rear O2's and jacked up coolant level light... haha..) :

Setup is Hooker coated LTs <<<which are junk son't buy them<<<, Summit universal X pipe, 2 boxes of mandrel bends which include 2 90*, 2 45*, and 2 180* bends in each box plus a few scrap pieces I had from a header back kit on an S10 and a few feet of straight pipe.
But its a set of true duals over the axle with a magnaflow daul in/dual out muffler and it sounds amazing IMHO
Here's a thread over at the HybridZ (Datsun 240Z related) forum where a guy built his own x-pipe for his sbc conversion:
http://forums.hybridz.org/showthread.php?t=137897
He describes his design decisions with some detail and I find it interesting that the pix of the commercial x-pipes posted here seem to be a lot narrower than the one he made. I.e. his "crossover" hole is somewhat smaller, making his x-pipe somewhat wider at the throat.
He also discusses some observations about pipe flows using a heat gun with and without one header pipe closed off that you might find interesting.
I continue to be curious about whether anyone has ever documented performance improvements for x-pipes, or whether they're primarily for sound control/improvement. Also whether h-pipes perform differently.
Anyone?
Cheers -- Gary

do you have any sound clips of this setup?
