That with some ported aftermarket castings or LE2/3s and a nice custom cam would make some great numbers
I dunno why I want a bad *** 355.Not sure why, but I do??? I could built whatever and Im not in a huge hurry, but i really do want to end up with something really really bad ***.

Nothing at all wrong with a 355, you've just got less cubes to play with.
That means getting away with slightly less duration to keep peak HP in a usable range
and you can use ported stockers without choking the top end since you're not displacing as much air/fuel.

It also happen to be less costly since you don't have to clearance the block
to handle the longer stroke. You can use your stock crank and rods if you
really want to, just upgrade the bolts to handle a little extra RPM.

The larger bore is an excuse to upgrade to forged pistons.

Those are a lot of the reasons I had originally gone with the 355.
Had I not run into the vibration issues, I'd probably have been to the track several times by now.
The 383 is just my way of taking a big stinky **** on the old engine and the problems it caused me.

We need to get a thread going to get Carl to keep on making these headers. If he made a few small adjustments to the second batch these things would be perfect!!!! Especially for the price, even if he charged an extra 100 dollars for the second refined batch, I would pay it.

I was going to order a set, but got a new place and the money for the headers went to my deposit. If only they would be around next spring......

If you look at these vs the kooks they are almost identical, but these are better stainless and mine came nice and polished. You can get the headers and y for about 200 bucks more than the kooks y-pipe alone. Get em while you can.
