A little more information.
The LT4 stuff is a poor idea on an LT1 especially one with near stock displacement and a sub-7000rpm limit. You will find tat even on most street/strip strokers LT1 heads are a better place to start.
Without reading that link another key missunderstanding is the ports are not raised but rather better described as TALLER, the floor of the port is in the same place as an LT1 port, just since it is a LOT bigger port the hole is taller.
