Default replaced opti, coil, and ignition mod. what else?

in the last week or so i've replaced the opti spark, ignition coil, and ignition module on my 96 formula. gonna be doing the plugs and wires soon as my weekend rolls back around.

are there any other problem parts/areas i should be looking at on these cars? got just over 140k miles on the bird.

i feel like a friggin newb again with this car. i open the hood and i'm lucky to be able to check the oil and top off the wiper fluid in a timely manner.

Yeah waterpump is very important, dont want to loose that brand new opti when it leaks.

Fuel filter? Air Filter?

air and fuel filter are in the plans. was just wondering if there was anything besides the optispark on these engines that's prone to breaking often.

(probly shoulda mentioned that I just purchased the car 2 weeks ago)

*edit* water pump was replaced by previous owner. I just wish he'd gone ahead and done the opti at the same time, woulda kept me from getting stranded on the side of the interstate.

Who knows how old the O2 sensors are, so if your really going to freshen it up I would do those too. Fuel filter is another who knows item, most people dont care.

How are you on trans/rear end/PS fluids and coolant? Any records?

Well, to be honest.... If you just bought the car and want piece of mind then I would say just do it. Its not expensive (just a couple bottles of lube, and a tube of gasket maker and your set).

You cant really check the level, but you might get lucky if you pop off the fill plug and can see inside (if that angle is even possible, hahaha).
