Trann Question
Trann Question The car is a 96 impala SS. Pulling into my driveway decided not to park there so i put it in reverse made a weird noise and now it wont go into park. It feels mushy in a way when i try and put it into first. When i let the brake go the car rolls and makes a gradually faster ticking noise. I popped the shifter cable off and was moving the shifter part of the tranny and it would not stay locked in part either. Could the parking dawl broke and how can i replace it or is it a total rebuild sort of deal.
If the parking prawl broke, you could put it in park but as soon as you let off the brake it would roll.
Your going to most likely have to at least tear it down and fix JUST that, if not anything else you find in there on the way.
