Default clearance issues or no?

I have a '93 z that i am doing a cam swap in and bumping up to 1.6 rockers.

the question i have is the cam has a 554 lift and a 238 duration with a lobe sep of 114 with the 1.6's...... can i use the impala ss gaskets for higher compression or is there not enough clearance. the heads are stock-- they have been ported and valved- but not decked.

should i worry about clearance or am i ok?

The Rule of Thumb is: Always be concerned about valve clearance. You will never know unless you check. It takes a little time and there's a hassle component in getting it done correctly and accurately but that's just part of modification. It's an expensive lesson when it's learned the hard way.

Good luck.

true. i just thought someone on here might know what the max lift and so forth would be for this type of setup-- i know someone here has to know the tolerances!

Plenty of clearance with that setup.
