Best heads Okay guys im finally getting my lt1 built. My girlfriends dad owns a machine shop and he s doin the work. i always wnted forged everything and splayed 4 blts 383. he talked me into cast crank i beam rods main gurdles. We figursincim not gonna boost it this will save me money for heads. so what are the best heads for a lt1? its a 93 auto and a stret strip car. Also ive heard something about someone making a coil over swap for the optisark? does any one know what ize injectors i will need?
Lots of head options depending on your goals, application and budget.
Ported stockers work quite well and can be made to flow in around 285cfm.
AFR, TFS and Dart all make aftermarket castings, they can be used as-is or ported to flow well over 300cfm.
Injector size depends on application and target HP.
A 383 with a decent cam and big heads is going to want 36 or 42# injectors.
So I guess the question is ... How fast do you wanna go? And how much you wanna spend to get there?
