Upgrading cluster from crap to digital...

I tried searching and I checked the stickies, but I couldn't find any info on switching a non digital gauge cluster to a digital unit. I have a 94 Formula that has the roll style odometer and I just want to upgrade that to a 98+ cluster.

Can I just plug it in and call it a day? Or do I need to do some special wiring? I know Camaro guys have to do it if they upgrade 93-96 Dash's.

Any help would be great!

you cannot use the 98-02 cluster
you will need to use the 97Lt1 style digital

Is there a difference between the 97's and 98-02's? I have a 97 SS and an 02 firebird and they are nearly identical aside form a few service lights being in different spots.

as far as looks,Yes they do look similar however the Ls1 cluster is not compatible with the Lt1. the tach will not read correctly due to signal,the fuel guage will not work since the impedence is a much different value. heck the 98 cluster is its own and will not function correctly in a 99-02
i purchased my cluster from LQKonline.com ......
