Default 160* t-stat. what do i need for a fan switch?

i plan on popping in a 160* t-stat in the formula after i get her tomorrow (finally), what type of fan switch do i need? in the FAQ i found something relating to hypertech (which is a company i have no faith in) do i have other options? however i do not want to have to do it manually (even though it would be easy).

what is the stock temp the fan turns on stock?

You dont need to have a fan switch if you have your PCM tuned (by lets say PCM4less.com OR Madz28.com) to have the fans come earlier for the 160 tstat. So your other option would be having the car tuned.

You COULD just but the fan switch and keep the temps down like that, but it shouldent have a problem just staying low with the 160 in there without any tuning/fan switch (if your cooling system is running correctly). Your fans shouldent be needed until those really hot days where the car isnt moving, otherwise it should keep itself in check without a problem (especially with the 160 in there).

are there any disadvantages to running the 160* stat?

more so with out running a different switch or tune?

i have ran lower t-stats on all of my cars and havent had issues (160* in both thirdgens and 180* in the stang (stock 195*)).

i think you would be ok, but the hypertech programmer does work. i don't recommend it, i would prefer a tune myself. a manual switch is nice so you can leave the fan on while the car is parked if you go in a store or something. just my thoughts.

Its what I have, works great.

Plug n Play and you just have to mount the switch somewhere thats reachable.
