I think its more than fair if you both swap tires out. That said no I don't think I own something I lease or rent, its just borrowed time os all.
Im sure there will be no fighting but calling names over and over gets to some people, and that can lead to fights. Rivalry is all good and I encourage it. As long as it stays friendly and HD don't take your ***** comments to heart.

Lets be honest, I dont need to scare him away... He wont show up... much less meet the requirements of drive/race/drive...
And the only way, Im gonna risk damaging my car at a great distance from home, and incurring extra costs to a vacation... is to make the monitary stakes are worth it...
I know that sounds one sided.. but if he thinks he is gonna "RAPE" my car and drive home.... then there should be no issue slapping down a cool 1k.
To go ONE step further.... if I win and nothing is damaged, I will give half of the winnings to the LTX 2013 shootout fund.

well, popo just put a set of tires on layaway...
A forged 383 with AI 212 heads, AI ported stock intake, AS&M monoblade and the biggest hydraulic roller cam Phil would make me (lol) and 1 7/8" primary headers with 3" true duals, x pipe and Schoenfeld race mufflers dumped before the axle. I should wind up right around 12:1 compression with my pistons and head gaskets.
So, I figured once the new engine and trans are in I'd do a little dyno queening with the 10 bolt while I tune the new engine, before I swap in a 9 inch. Who thinks I can put down 500+ rwhp on a dynojet?
