Default Quick Disconnect on Slave Cylinder Problem

Finishing up an engine build and when I went to plug the quick disconnect back into the slave cylinder it won't move. The slave is fairly new and only has approx 7K miles on it. It came out with no issues but when trying to plug it back in, it feels like i'm just pushing it into a wall. Advice?

Open the bleeder on the slave and it should slide in easier.
