Car does not go into 3rd sometimes??
Car does not go into 3rd sometimes?? I looked at some of the previous posts and just thought I'd give my personal experience on it and see if anyone had any suggestions. From the previous post it sounds like a shift fork since I already have the 01 Hydros. Plus the problem Seems much more mechanical then a clutch type problem.
Just got back from the dealer. If I downshift especially a quick downshift it will catch on the gate sometimes.... I can also get it to do it with the car off just play with it a little and you can feel it catch and then it will not go forward I think it is between 3rd and 5th. If you drive it every day and downshift it may happen one out of 20 times going into third... When I say it catches IT STOPS WILL NOT GO INTO GEAR. So imagine cruising in fourth and going to pass someone try to downshift into 3rd and BAM a brick wall
So anyways the dealer says that is just the gate and there is nothing they can do about it. To make it worse they had one of those 375hp 01 SLP SS's there and turned off did the same thing. Not good for my case.
Anyways my question is does anyone else have this problem? Its not shifters cause I took my pro5.0 out when I took it in for warranty. I had 2 LT1 6spd (actually 3 cause I replaced one) NEVER had this problem. I find it VERY unsatifactory the dealer just says they can't do anything about it and am taking it to another dealer tommorow.
Any thoughts or suggestions??
