Problems going into second All of a sudden Im having problems shifting into second smoothly under hard exceleration, such as at the drag strip. It isnt everytime but often it feels like the shifter bounces off of 2nd before it goes in good. Itll go in but not as crisp as it does sometimes. For example when Im staging if I shift into second a couple times I dont have trouble. If I dont second will grind going in or bounce off.

Re: Problems going into second I'm having the exact same problem. I was told possibly a the synchronizers or something about bushings that make the gears sit at a certain height which would cause grinding as they wear out and then sit lower.

Re: Problems going into second I had a simikar problem with a 99 z28 I just bought from a chev dealer, with 63,000 miles. Brought it back to the dealer under warranty, and they claimed that the computer software needed to upgraded. Got it back the next day. Whatever it was, it worked.
