Default M6 Woes Again...

Well for those that didn't see my original post my newly aquired 99 WS.6 had 3rd gear pop-out when I bought it. The dealer only gave me a 30 day warranty due to the high mileage (65k) so after a lot of arguing and threats of lawyers I got them to fix the tranny.

So I get the car back, and it still jumps out of 3rd. I thought maybe it was due to my driving habits. So I bought a pro-5.0 and just started shifting it into 3rd with more firmness. That seemed to help it...

That is until tonight. I just had my Hooker catback installed with a cutout and Qtec:thumbup:. A friend of mine with a SRT-4 (stage 1 turbo upgrade, BOV upgrade, 3" exhaust) and I were pulling out onto the road when we decided to give it a go. Making a left turn he nails it, I attempted to but immediately slid. I regained traction, and control. And began to chase him down. By the time I was at the top of 2nd I gained pretty good. Nailed 3rd, right on him. Went to 4th and we shut them down.

So I go to shift out of 4th. It's stuck. Then I remember reading on the forum about people that had the bent shift fork problem having problems with the car getting stuck in 4th. So I manage to get it out of 4th. Go to shift into 3rd, and the car won't stay in 3rd barely at all. All other gears are working fine though. So I come home and look on the reciept for the work that was done. (10 days ago) They don't list a shift fork on there.. It says the problems that the car was having, and they replaced everything BUT the shift fork.

Should I have any trouble in getting them to fix this? It says all parts are warrantied for 12months. Before I take it in should I remove the pro 5.0, and the lid? I'm pretty much stuck with the exhaust on there. But I wouldn't think that would matter. Sorry for the length just wanted to set the stage for what occured.

Remove the aftermarket parts before you go to the dealer. If you don't they will blame those parts for the problem.

Well I'll be able to remove everything except the exhaust. I don't think they'll give me crap for that though.

I dont think that they will give you a hard time about the exuast, but definatly get rid of the pro 5.0 before you bring it back.
