Default Question, need your help..

im new to the manual transmission thing and i have a question. This problem just arised the other day. I shift through the gears and let say that I bring my car to about 4000 rpms and let off and put it in neutral, well my RPMS stay up and come down very slowly..Just started in the last 2 weeks. I only have 38k on my car. Whats is wrong?

Plugs might be running hot, and the engine could be doing almost like a "dieseling" action, where the plugs still set off the fuel even with no additional throttle.

Could have a sticking throttle body.

If it didn't used to do it, it's not because of a heavy flywheel. I'm sure there are other reasons... that sounds strange though. Good luck.

I've had a similar problem before. It was the throttle position sensor. At first I thought it was the idle air control motor. The TPS had normal voltage and resistance, but it was still the culprit.
