Default Too much weight bad for trans???

Over the summer I drove my car from Texas to Virginia with it heavily loaded down. When I was almost there the trans started acting up. It didn't want to shift I vibrated like crazy. I replaced the clutch and trans and it seemed to go away. Now I'm driving back to Texas with the car loaded down just like before and the trans has started doing it again. When I'm parked and in neutral I can hear the input shaft wobbling around in the pilot bushing. Guess I'll be looking to rent a truck and trailer for the remainder of the trip. So does anyone think the weight caused the damage?

With out a doubt excessive weight in the car can cause issues . I would not expect as many with a standard as I would with an automatic . If anything , I would think you would see possible clutch problems before transmission problems though .

I would have thought the same thing but I can hear what I think is the input shaft shifting around. There's a pretty distinct vibration as well.

Oh yeah, its got 4.10s and a GTO transmission so its definitely not lacking in the gearing department.
