Default Spec Clutches?

I have a 2000 f-body with a ls7 set-up right now but I will be changing it out real soon due to more power to probably a spec 3 or 3 plus. My question is can I use the ls2 flywheel with any of there clutches or do I need to specify that when I order. I have the stock ls1 flywheel also but didn't know which one would be better to use. Thanks for any info

Use your stock flywheel. Just have it turned.

I suggest using the LS1 flywheel for your LS1 car. Here is why...use of the LS2 stock flywheel will require you to use the stock SAC-Style LS2 pressure-plate. This kit will have a lower capacity, greater potential for issues (relative to the SAC mechanism), and will be .100" shorter than your LS1 based assembly (leading to a greater potential for actuation issues due to a different stack-height). I know that there are those that swear by the LS2 assembly but, I for one would stick with the LS1 set-up, as it is specific to your car. As long as the OE LS1 flywheel hasn't been resurface before it would be fine to machine the face and re-use it. You just want to make sure that no more than .015" is removed. Let me know if you have any further questions.
