t56 question
t56 question ive got an iron block lq4 im doing a swap with. wondering is any ls1 t56 will bolt up to it and what else i should be looking for. tries searching but didnt come up with anything. the lq4 also has a spacer that came on the flex plate. is this going to cause a problem mounting a flywheel. will i need to use the spacer or not.

Depends on the year of the LQ4 you're using, but it sounds like if you have the spacer, it won't work..

the 99-00 6.0L motors had a 1/2" to 3/4" of extra material on the back of the crank only allowing it to work with the 4l80e, 01 and after it was the normal crank and could utilize the 4l60 or t56. I am currently trying to find out if this is the same story with the 5.3 or not as I am looking at the lm7's... I would think not since these motors came in the 1/2 ton trucks with a 4l60 or 4l65, but if anyone knows for sure whether there is a certain year or years where the t56 would not just bolt to the 5.3 please let me know.
