WTF..plastic?!?!? What in our trannys is plastic????? Mine was grinding into third gear and I completely lost reverse, possibly a broken snap ring. But when I drained the fluid not only was there a ton of metal shavings, but there was two little torn up, kind of off-white pieces of plastic in the fluid as well

Lots of things inside the unit are made from plastic . Heres a few things just off the top of my head :
fork pads
needle bearing cages
spacer under 3rd gear in some units
funnel in the rear tail housing on the counter shaft
