Default breaking in procedure

I'll be picking up my car with a new monster stage III in just a few days. I'm just looking for some more info on break in. I was told stop and go traffic is the best for the first 500 miles. Should I avoid shifting above a certain rpm? I assume doing highway driving in the break in won't harm anything, I just won't include it in the 500 break in miles. Is that correct? Any advice from experience would be appreciated.

Yup.. Base the 500mi on miles that actually use the clutch.. Avoid downshifting as much as possible during the break-in, as well as hard launches and excessive slipping of the clutch.

i gotta question, what if you are putting the clutch in a drag race only car? How are you supposed to break in the clutch? Thanks

A racing clutch will have different characteristics, and wouldn't need a break-in per-se..

i believe with the monstor stage 3 you shouldnt have to do much break in! I just put the tdp stage 3 in mine, broke it in by riding the clutch a little out on gears to get the burs and all off the clutch and flywheel.... then after that put about a mile or so on it to get the clutch worked in a little, after that car was loaded and off to the track doing 5k clutch dumps without a problem, shifting fine! I just think that people see diff ways of doing it! But if you was streeting it every day id probably break it in as much as you can to be safe....
