Default How rounded can syncro teeth be?

I bought a T-56 a few months back that needed rebuilt. Finally I had the time to tear it down and see what was the matter.

Everything looked fine except the 3-4 syncro, which was the reason the tranny was pulled in the first place. It had a hard time shifting into 4th above 4k.

The teeth are worn, I am working on getting a pic.

The next problem is this is out of a Vette. So far I can't find a place that sells the 3-4 syncro for a vette. Everything is F-body or Viper.

Could someone post up a pic of a worn syncro?

I will try to get a pic up shortly.

The blocker ring is what actually synchronizes the shift, the slider (shown) just engages the gear. This slider appears too rounded to give you the quick/firm shifts, though it would continue to work. It was rounded off because the blocker didn't sync the shift well/fast enough. Check/replace the 4th gear (input) blocker ring, and replace the 3/4 slider.

Have you check with Tremec dealers for the vette C5 synchro? (1386-590-006) I can't imagine them not being able to order one? I have a brand new one (came with a core I bought) if you can't locate one.
