Aftermarket Slave?

Aftermarket Slave? Several companies (RAM Clutch in particular) sell a replacement slave cylinder. I'm in need of a new slave cylinder and wondered if the aftermarkets were any different (better quality) than the GM 01+ unit (they all cost about the same). Are these companies just repackaging GM units or are they actually producing there own piece? The slave in my 01 worked for 50,000miles (still probably good but better safe than sorry).

I ran a RAM slave in my CETA when it was a 6 spd. Never had a problem with it or shifting at 6800
FYI: RAM's site says the following "RAM slave cylinders are the updated '2001-up' models and a recommended replacement for any pre-2001 LS1 vehicles."
