Hard to Put in Gear Okay guys I am lacking time to diagnosis car this week and was looking for some quick help. I have a 99 camaro SS with T-56. I recently had the T 56 rebuilt and while I was there I changed to an Ls7 clutch assembly and Flywheel. With It I changed the pilot bearing, throw-out bearing/ slave cylinder and Redline DT-4 and the car shifted perfectly. I was very happy with it. About two months later after a heavy drive my slave cylinder went out and clutch fell to floor. Since the part is OEM it was covered under warranty. Since I dont have time between work and school (against my will) I decided to let the dealership do the replacement. Now that I got it back, It is really hard to put into 1st, 4th, and reverse. Sometimes I have to fully depress the clutch and let up a little just to get into gear. It takes real effort to get into gear and It was not like that before. What did they do to my baby...
Either the clutch is not engauging or disengauging right, or the system needs to be blead.
Put in on jackstands in the rear, if the back wheels spin w/ the car on when the clutch is pushed ALL the way in w/ tranny is in 1st...there is ur problem.

Thanks. Dealership says that the work they did (Slave replacement) would not cause that problem even though it was fine before my slave went out. I am bringing it back to them on tuesday, because If I can do it and have it work perfectly on my garage floor then the dealership in a full shop better get it right too. The pedal feels fine, so think bleeding it will fix it Chris05ssTruck
Hydraulics for sure. Slave just went out on my '03 Cummins. Replaced MC while I was there as well. Bled it, drove it, hard to get into gear. Bled some more, better, but not perfect. BLED SOME MORE

I think that I'm having the same issue. I just put in a Ram Dual Disk clutch/flywheel and did a new adjustable MC and Slave and now it's hard to shift into any gear and even harder to go into reverse but my pedal feels stronger then ever.
