Default What is the problem?

For a while now i have been having some shifting issues. When i'm racing i have a hard time getting into 3rd gear and sometimes 4th and the shifter becomes really notchy. But when i'm driving normal it shifts fine. I was thinking i may need a rebuild but i'm not sure. Does this sound like a transmission issue or clutch hydraulics?

Sounds like a 3/4 fork issue. Probably worn/broken fork pads, but could be the start of the 3/4 fork bending. Clutch/hyd issues tend to show up in all/multiple gears. Something limited to one synchro/slider/fork is usually inside the trans..

Look at it optimistically as a reason to do a full rebuild on it.. ;-)

Well, how old is the clutch? Hydraulics? Whose are they? Power levels? Mileage on tranny?

I have a tex oz700 with a gm slave and mc. This is all about 1 year old. The tranny has 130k on it. On motor its a little over 400hp and on the bottle its over 500hp. I don't spray very much tho.

Mine never grinds. Just hard to hit 3rd/4th at like 6400 rpm's
